Anglers Encouraged to Register Now to Help Build the Largest and Most Competitive Championship Event Yet

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — F.I.S.H. and USAngling are calling on qualified kayak anglers from across the country to secure their spot in the upcoming USA Saltwater Kayak Nationals before the registration deadline of 11:59 p.m. on July 15.

With competitors traveling from across the United States to compete in San Diego’s world-class fishery, the Nationals promises to be one of the premier kayak fishing events of the year. However, participation from qualified anglers is critical to maximizing the event experience, prize payouts, and overall opportunities available to competitors.

Currently, registration numbers remain below expectations, and organizers are encouraging all eligible anglers to sign up as soon as possible.

“This championship is built by anglers, for anglers,” said Jojo Pemberton, President of F.I.S.H. “Every registration helps strengthen the event, increase sponsor support, expand prize opportunities, and ensure the long-term growth of competitive saltwater kayak fishing.”

Organizers remind anglers that cash payouts, sponsor contributions, raffle prizes, and event enhancements are directly tied to participation levels and registration numbers. As registrations increase, so does the ability to provide larger prize pools, more sponsor-supported giveaways, and an enhanced experience for all competitors.

The event is targeting a minimum field of 50 anglers to maximize the championship experience and maintain the level of competition expected at a national event.

In addition to individual competition, anglers are encouraged to help build state teams and represent their regions on the national stage. State team participation adds another level of competition and pride to the event while showcasing the growth of kayak fishing across the country.

“We have incredible sponsors, volunteers, and industry partners committed to making this event a success,” Pemberton added. “Now we need the anglers. Qualified anglers are encouraged not to wait until the last minute. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on July 15, and organizers will evaluate final participation numbers immediately following the deadline.
