As the anticipation builds for the 3rd Pan American Kayak Fishing Championship event scheduled for September on Lake Murray, kayak fishing enthusiasts across the nation are gearing up for the opportunity of a lifetime. The stage is set for the 2024 USA Kayak Fishing Team Qualifier, where aspiring anglers will vie for their chance to join the elite ranks of the USA Kayak Fishing Team.
Hosted by Capital City Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board on April 26 – 28, this highly anticipated qualifier event promises to be a thrilling showcase of skill, determination, and passion for the sport. With only 6 spots left to be filled on the 2024 USA Kayak Fishing Team, the competition is expected to be fierce as contenders from coast to coast cast their lines and vie for a coveted spot on the team.

The USA Kayak Fishing -Freshwater Team, proudly operating under the auspices of USAngling—a 501(c)(3) charitable organization—leads the way in fostering the next generation of competitive anglers. Through international competitions, we showcase our nation’s talent on a global stage while inspiring America’s youth to embrace the sport of competitive angling.
Our mission extends beyond the water, promoting conservation efforts and empowering local community angling groups to strengthen connections, preserve natural resources, and instill a lifelong love for fishing.
Bass fishing tournaments are common across the United States. Truth is bass fishing tournaments out of kayaks isn’t a new thing, however, an international bass kayak championship is unique. Another criteria was no electric drives were allowed so anglers had to rely on paddling or peddling to get to their fishing area.
