USA SURF
FISHING TEAM
The USA Surf Fishing Team, proudly operating under the auspices of USAngling—a 501(c)(3) charitable organization—leads the way in fostering the next generation of competitive anglers. Through international competitions, we showcase our nation’s talent on a global stage while inspiring America’s youth to embrace the sport of competitive angling. Our mission extends beyond the water, promoting conservation efforts and empowering local community angling groups to strengthen connections, preserve natural resources, and instill a lifelong love for fishing.
The USA Surf Fishing Team is America’s official representative in competitive international shore-based saltwater angling events, drawing world-class performers from all coastal areas.
The team has two main competitive campaigns; the Pan American Championship – taking place in Costa Rica in 2024 – and the World Shore Fishing Championships, to be held in Portugal in 2025. Within these two strands, the organization is actively developing mens, womens and youth teams.
The team also has a focus on the development of saltwater fishing in local, national and international communities with events and partnerships to further the sport’s impact alongside our partners and sponsors.
Team President Ben Hervey-Murray leads a talented group of athletes – including Vice-President Ryan Lambert – with anglers from East and West Coast surf fishing communities representing the USA with pride and passion.
