Oregon Qualifier Results - A Day To Remember
The sun rose over Depoe Bay, Oregon, casting golden light across the Pacific as anglers prepared for the Oregon Rockfish Classic 2025. With winds gently brushing the coastline at 5 to 10 mph and clear skies overhead, it was the kind of morning kayak fishers dream about.
This wasn’t just any tournament—it was the USA Saltwater Kayak Fishing Regional Qualifier, a gateway to the 2026 National Championship and, for the elite few, a shot at representing Team USA on the world stage. Hosted at Chinook Bend RV Resort, the event drew seasoned competitors and passionate newcomers alike, all united by their love of saltwater sport and the thrill of the chase.
Lines hit the water at 5:30 AM sharp. The ocean was calm but alive, and the rockfish were biting. This was a catch – photo – release format and all fish were returned safely. By 1:00 PM, rods were reeled in and the weigh-in began. Cheers erupted as the top ten anglers secured their place at Nationals, inching closer to the Pan American and World Championships.
But the day wasn’t just about competition—it was about community. With proceeds supporting Neighbors for Kids, every cast carried a deeper purpose.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect: sunny skies, a gentle breeze, and just enough chop to keep things interesting. Spirits were high, Fishing was good, and the camaraderie on the water was as strong as the fish tugging at the lines.
