Castellón, Spain – International sports fishing body Fédération Internationale de Pêche Sportive – Mer (FIPS-M) has announced the dates and location for the 28^th annual Long Casting of Sea Weights World Championship. Tirrenia, Italy and the local Italian Federation of Sport Fishing & Underwater Activities organization will host the event from May 9^th through the 16^th.

On Sunday, May 9, casters from around the world will arrive in Tirrenia, a coastal town just southwest of Pisa. On the following day, teams are free to warm up and practice at the casting venue, with opening ceremonies commencing that evening. For “Worlds”, each day of competition is devoted to a specific sinker weight. Tuesday, May 11: 175 gram sinker casting; May 12: 150 gram; May 13, 125 gram; May 14, 100 gram.

Friday, May 15 will be a rest and recovery day with the awards gala that evening at the Grande Hotel Golf Tirrenia, which will be the base of ceremonies and accommodations for teams during the week. On Saturday, casters will depart for their journeys home.

This year’s United States roster bound for Italy is Ryan Lambert (team captain), Daniel Nassiff, Conner Brown, and Will Nash.
