Tess Weigand serves as Vice President and Team Captain of the USA Fly Fishing Women’s Team, providing on-the-water leadership and competitive direction for the national program. As a founding member of the team, she plays a central role in setting performance expectations, supporting athlete readiness, and fostering a cohesive, high-performance team culture.

Weigand is an active international competitor who has represented the United States at multiple World Fly Fishing Championships. She is a current individual gold medalist and team gold medalist, earning both honors at the 2025 World Championship. Her experience at the highest level of competition directly informs her leadership in technical execution, strategy, and preparation.

Within USAngling, Weigand works closely with athletes and sport leadership to advance the women’s national team program, mentor emerging competitors, and uphold standards of excellence and stewardship within the sport.
