Erica Hickey serves as Communications Director for the USA Fly Fishing Women’s Team, leading outreach, storytelling, and knowledge-sharing for the national program. A dedicated angler for over 20 years, she has competed with the U.S. Women’s Team since 2022 and brings both competitive experience and technical expertise to her role.

Hickey learned trout fishing on the spring creeks of Southwest Wisconsin and now fishes high mountain freestone rivers in Eagle County, Colorado. She is also an avid steelhead angler and spey caster. As an instructor with Wisconsin Women’s Fly Fishing Clinics and a board member of Keep Fish Wet, she mentors anglers and promotes science-based best practices for catch-and-release fishing.

Outside of angling, Hickey is a mother, writer, and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, sharing her passion for fly fishing through her creative non-fiction blog, waterwritten.com.
