Thane Melton’s passion for ice fishing began at the age of two, when his parents first brought him onto the ice in Northwest Montana. Despite being colorblind, he has mastered the use of jigs and lures to target fish of all types, fueling a lifelong enthusiasm for the sport. Among his favorite memories is chasing perch on local ponds with his cousin using a Ratfinke.

Still residing in Kalispell, Montana, Thane balances his love for ice fishing with running a successful pest control company and raising his two children. He is a proud Pro Staff member for Clam and Backwater Bait Company and has been a dedicated member of the USA Ice Fishing Team for the past two years. Thane is honored and excited to represent the United States at the upcoming World Championship.
