Mikey was born and raised in Sarasota and has been fishing the west coast of Florida since he was 5 years old. Growing tired of the Gulf fisheries, he moved to the east coast landing him in Vero Beach and exploring the unlimited options that the Atlantic and Gulfstream has to offer. Within 4 years of moving there,  Mikey excelled in learning and trying to perfect the offshore fisheries and even started a charter business out of Stuart, FL. 

Mikey had only been  kayak fishing for less than 2 years before winning 1st place in the 2024 EKFT Summer Slam 2. Since obtaining a place on the USAngling team, Mikey has made a lot of new recourses and friends in the fishing industry. Now, Mikey has recently started working with Johnny Jigs to help him put more fish in the kayak and to help the amazing company of Johnny Jigs grow even more. From here, Mikey intends to continue to pour his heart and soul into the world of fishing and help take team USA to the top.
