USA Kayak Fishing Saltwater  |  Athlete

Born & Raised in Orlando, FL, Justin Ritchey spent the majority of his teenage years “pond hopping” throughout the city fishing local freshwater lakes for Largemouth Bass. Fascinated with all types of fish around the world, he studied at the University of Florida earning his Bachelors of Science in Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences in 2011. For over a decade, Justin has competed in numerous Kayak Tournaments, both Regionally and Internationally, with multiple 1st Place rankings. Winning the IFA Kayak Tournament in Jacksonville in 2014 awarded him the opportunity to compete in the Hobie World Championship in The Netherlands that same year. He represented the USA alongside several other National Anglers and against 40 other International Anglers on the Vinkeveense Plassen in The Netherlands and managed 4th Place overall. Justin has spent the past 8 years venturing Offshore in his Hobie Outback targeting various prized species such as Blackfin Tuna, Sailfish, Kingfish, Mutton Snapper and more. His passion to push the boundaries of the sport of Kayak Fishing led him to Los Buzos, Panama where he fished alongside other USA Athletes (Adam Fisk, Robert Field & Dakota Dunmire) landing some of the largest Roosterfish and Cubera Snapper the Pacific Coast has to offer. Today he finds himself working as a Manufacturers Representative for many popular Fishing Brands, such as Nomad Design, BKK Hooks, Fish Monkey Gloves and several others.
