Two New States Added as the Sport Continues Rapid National Growth

Haleiwa, Hawaii- USAngling Saltwater Kayak Fishing is proud to announce its 2026 competition season, featuring a significantly expanded Regional Qualifier Series that continues to test the nation’s best kayak anglers while guiding them along the pathway to the USAngling National Championship, Team USA selection, and international competition.

Building on the success of recent seasons, the 2026 schedule introduces two additional regional qualifiers in two new states, reflecting the rapid growth of competitive saltwater kayak fishing across the United States. The Regional Qualifier Series is designed to challenge elite anglers in diverse fisheries nationwide while identifying top performers who advance to the National Championship and beyond.

“These events represent the highest level of saltwater kayak fishing competition in the country,” said Saltwater Kayak Fishing Vice President David Elgas  . “Each qualifier is not just a tournament, but a proving ground for anglers pursuing national titles, Team USA honors, and the opportunity to compete on the international stage.”

• Charleston, South Carolina — March 7, 2026
• Grand Isle, Louisiana — April 18, 2026
• San Diego, California — May 1–3, 2026
• Pompano Beach, Florida — June (TBD), 2026
• Ocean City, Maryland — June 27–28, 2026
• Depoe Bay, Oregon — July 11, 2026

2026 International Championships

• Los Buzos, Panama — June 28- July 4 2026
• Portugal — September 21–25, 2026

Qualified Team USA athletes will represent the United States in elite international competition, showcasing American kayak anglers on the world stage.
