USA World Fly Fishing Team Ready for France 2024

US Angling Confederation’s USA Fly Fishing Team is in France and ready to compete in the 2024 World Fly Fishing Championship. Perched atop the Pyrenees Mountains Font-Romeu, France is the host city for the championship this year. The team will be fishing three rivers and two series of lakes over the course of the five competition days of the event. They have been selected from among the best competitive fly anglers in the country and are proud to represent our nation at the event.

Working with local experts the team has been in the area practicing for more than a week becoming acclimated to the area and the unique fishing challenges that it presents. Honing their skills and specific fly patterns is part of the challenge of traveling across the world for these events. Competence in a wide range of fly fishing techniques is required to catch trout and grayling in these French waters. These multidimensional anglers will use their skills in dry fly, dry dropper, various nymphing, streamer and lake fishing techniques to strive for individual and team spots on the podium at the closing ceremonies on June 29th.

Meet the 2024 US Fly Fishing Team:

  • Jack Arnot (Vail, CO)
  • Michael Bradley (Cherokee, NC)
  • Cody Burgdorff (Lafayette, CO)
  • Glade Gunther (South Jordan, UT) (Team Captain)
  • Mike Komara (Pittsburg, PA)
  • Devin Olsen (Lander, WY)
  • Nick Rzyska-Filipek (Glenwood Springs, CO)

These anglers will be competing against teams from 23 other countries in the event. We have high hopes for our team with confidence in their abilities to succeed on the world stage in France.
