USA Ice Fishing Announces 2027 Qualifiers and National Championship
USA Ice Fishing has announced the official schedule for the 2027 USA Ice Fishing Team Qualifiers and National Championship, beginning the road toward representing the United States at the 2028 World Ice Fishing Championship.
Anglers seeking an opportunity to compete for Team USA must first earn their way to the 2027 National Championship through one of three qualifying events. The National Championship is not an open-entry event. Anglers must qualify at an official USA Ice Fishing Team Qualifier to receive an invitation to the championship.
2027 USA ICE FISHING TEAM QUALIFIERS
January 2–3, 2027 | Olney, Montana
January 23–24, 2027 | Brooklyn, Michigan
February 6–7, 2027 | Naytahwaush, Minnesota
2027 USA ICE FISHING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
February 11–14, 2027 | Lakeview, Michigan
The National Championship will bring together anglers who have earned their spots through the qualifier series. From that field, competitors will battle for the opportunity to represent the United States as members of Team USA at the 2028 World Ice Fishing Championship.
The qualifier system gives competitive ice anglers from different regions of the country an opportunity to earn their way onto the national stage while identifying anglers capable of competing at the international level.
World Championship ice fishing requires a unique combination of speed, efficiency, adaptability, fish-finding ability, and teamwork. The qualifier and championship process will challenge anglers under competitive conditions as USA Ice Fishing works to assemble the team that will represent the United States in 2028.
