USAngling is proud to announce that the USA Street Fishing Team will compete in the 2024 Street Fishing World Championship, in Italy, on the 26th & 27th October. The 2024 Street Fishing World Championship (2024 SFWC) is organized by the International Federation of Freshwater Fishing (FIPSed), together with the Italian National and Province of Verona Sport Fishing Agencies (FIPSAS).

The Host City for the 2024 SFWC is the beautiful Peschiera del Garda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site noted for its 16th & 17th Century Venetian Walled City Defenses. The Walled City sits on two islands where the River Mincio meets the Southern end of Lake Garda, with the snowclad Italian Alps in the background. The street-lined canals around these two islands is expected to be where each Nations best Street Anglers will compete for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal positions.

The USA Street Fishing Team is awaiting the formal greeting and agenda from FIPSed, but we anticipate the Nations Teams Registration, Parade of Nations, and Opening Ceremony will probably be on October 23rd, followed by two days of official practice on October 24th & 25th. The World Championship Days 1 & 2 will be October 26th & 27th, with fishing from 10 am to 3 pm both days. Day 2 fishing is followed by the Closing Ceremony & Medals for the Top 3 Nations, and a Nations Banquet.
