Captain Mike Peterson is a native of New Braunfels, Texas. He has participated in prestigious fishing tournaments across Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, and the United States. Notably, he won the 2021 Tropic Star Roosterfish tournament alongside his teammate Pete Ballew. Additionally, he has made five appearances in the Offshore World Championship. In the 2025 World Championship, alongside fellow Team USA members Bob Stewart, Denise Stewart, and Bruce Wortham, they secured a third-place finish, and Mike ranked as a Top 10 angler. When he’s not fishing himself, Mike actively works as an Observer for the International Game Fish Tournament Observers non-profit organization. This observer role has provided him with invaluable opportunities to learn from some of the best Billfish teams in the world during the Los Suenos Triple Crown Tournaments
