Kristen Almond hails from Clyde, North Carolina, and discovered her love for fly fishing in August of 2019. From the moment she picked up a rod, she was hooked—quickly realizing that time on the water brought her more joy than anything else. Driven by that passion, Kristen dedicated herself to learning every aspect of the sport and joined Team Dead Drift in the Southeast Fly Fishing League. Competitive fly fishing became a natural fit, challenging her to sharpen her skills and build strong connections within the community.

Kristen’s dedication and rapid growth in the sport earned her a coveted spot on the U.S. Women’s Fly Fishing Team. In July 2025, she proudly represented her country at the World Fly Fishing Championship in Idaho, helping Team USA secure a historic Gold Medal on home waters.

When she’s not fishing, Kristen works full-time as a Quality Engineer at Pratt & Whitney in Asheville, NC. She also enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her family.

For Kristen, fly fishing isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way of life. She’s honored to represent her country, grow as an angler, and inspire others to find the same sense of purpose and peace that she’s found in the water.
