JOSH HUNT
USA Kayak Fishing Saltwater
Josh’s love for fishing began at age 4, chasing fish with his family across the bays and lakes of South Texas and venturing offshore by boat along the Texas coast. In 2018, he purchased his first kayak after enjoying inshore trips with a close friend. It wasn’t long before he discovered offshore kayak fishing—and found his true passion.
From the seat of his kayak, Josh has successfully targeted and landed an impressive array of pelagic and reef species, including American Red Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, and Blackfin Tuna. He thrives in the challenging world of competitive offshore kayak angling, having competed in tournaments spanning Texas to Florida.
Among his standout achievements:
• 3rd place overall – 2025 National Championship (qualifying him for Team USA)
• 2nd place overall – 2021 PYGMY
• 4th place overall – PYGMY 3
• 4th place overall + Kingfish Calcutta winner – 2025 EKFT Summer Slam Part 2
A versatile saltwater angler, Josh embraces every facet of the sport—from silent kayak drifts in the bays and nearshore waters to hardcore offshore battles, and even multi-day long-range tuna trips hundreds of miles into the Gulf of Mexico
