ERICA HICKEY
USA Fly Fishing Women’s Team | Angler
Erica Hickey has been a fly angler for over 20 years and started competing with the USA Women’s Fly Fishing Team in 2022. She learned to trout fish on small spring creeks in the Driftless area of Southwest Wisconsin and now spends most of her time fishing high mountain freestone rivers and creeks where she resides in Eagle County, Colorado. She is also an avid steelhead angler and spey caster. She spent several years teaching beginning fly fishing as an instructor with the Wisconsin Women’s Fly Fishing Clinics and is currently a board member with the conservation not-for-profit Keep Fish Wet. She hopes to continue to help share information on science-based best practices for catch and release angling. In her day-to-day life she is a mother, a writer, and a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner. She writes creative non-fiction about fly fishing on her blog waterwritten.com. Erica is proud to be a part of the talented group of anglers on the USAWFFT.
