Donald grew up hunting and fishing along the Texas Gulf Coast, chasing redfish, trout, flounder, and other inshore species with family and friends. His passion for offshore saltwater kayak angling was sparked in 2018 while fishing nearshore rigs and reef systems with his brother Joshua off Padre Island National Seashore.

Since then, Donald has successfully landed a variety of coveted species from his kayak—including King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Snapper, Grouper, Blackfin Tuna, and many others—across the Texas Gulf Coast and into the Atlantic Ocean.

In 2025, he qualified 4th in the prestigious Rey Del Mar Offshore Kayak Tournament, earning a spot to represent Team Texas in Pompano Beach, Florida. He followed that up by placing 5th overall at the 2025 National Championship, securing his place on Team USA for 2026
